Ron Merhavi

Ron Merhavi was born in Givatayim. Graduate of the IASA – Israel Arts and Science Academy in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv University in Musicology, Education and Double bass under Michael Klinghoffer and Doctoral Degree at the University of Michigan in Double Bass under Diana Gannett. In Michigan, he performed three dissertation recitals, sharing the thread "The Lyric Bass", aiming for compositions that meet proper standards of musicality, lyricism, and expressiveness. Dr. Merhavi performed and released several CDs of works for Double Bass solo, commissioned from Israeli composers. Ron has worked as editor and artistic producer at Voice of Music Radio, Voice of Music in the Upper Galilee Festival and Jerusalem Music Centre, Mishkenot Sha’ananim; Currently he is Music content coordinator at the Israel Camerata Jerusalem. 

 

In recent years Ron also links words and sounds, serving as an independent copy editor of concert programs, CDs and books.
