Larix Decidua is the European larch. Its wood and rosin are often used for stringed instruments. This piece for double bass solo from 2024 by Alessio Manega (born 1990) is dedicated to the nature of Italy's Aosta Valley. Emphasises the lyric aspect of the bass, it contains motives derived from early music, and Indian music influences.
